The memorial service for Aileen Marie Mikota will be 4:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Memory-Gardens Chapel, Medford, OR. Aileen was born Feb. 3, 1929 in Giltner, NE. to Horace & Marguerite(Wilson)Dean. She passed at home peacefully in her sleep on Apr. 14, 2008. As a child her family moved to Denver, CO. before eventually heading to Richland, WA. It was there in her early 20's that she met & married John Edward Mikota on July 30,1949. A few years and many U-Haul trips later the Rogue Valley became their home in 1974. Aileen immeasurably enjoyed and was most fulfilled being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was a reflection of her lifes work. She found great pleasure and love watching her grand kids' perform in their music recitals, school plays and sporting events. Personal passions include bowling(many games over 200), watching re-runs of her favorite show "I Love Lucy", drives around the valley and dining out with her family. Aileens sense of humor was clever and timely and an unexpected quip her gift. She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Mikota. She is survived by six children, four sons; Michael Dean Mikota of Helena, MT., John Douglas Mikota of Kimberly, ID., Raymond Paul Mikota of Ashland, OR., Bryan Louis Mikota of Medford, OR., two daughters; Christine Marie Mikota of Central Point, OR., and Patricia Gay Hettick of Laramie, WY., and five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Aileen has a sister; Bobbie Jean Evans of Seattle, WA., and a brother Horace Chamberlain Dean of Kennewick, WA. who preceded.
