Alphia passed away peacefully with his wife, son and grandson Kyle at his side in Drain, OR. Alphia was born Sept. 2, 1924 in Wellington, TX. to Jeff Haywood and Grace Simmons Lemley. At age 9, due to the depression, his family movedto the Rogue Valley, where he graduated from Medford High in 1941. He grew up helping on the family farm and custom farming with his dad. In January of 1945 the Army called him up and he served until 1947. He married his wife of 63 years, Clarice Hall in December. In August of 1949 he and clarice moved to Kerrville, TX. where he attended the Kerrville Bible Training, beginning his lifelong desire to spread the word of the Gospel as a minister of the Church of Christ. They lived in Ashland, OR. from June 1950 to July 1962 when the family moved to Roseburg, OR. where Alhia joined his younger brothers in their insurance business. He later went into Real Estate. He is survived by his wife Clarice, son Mark(Bonny) Lemley of Drain, OR., daughters Alicia(Larry) Ding and Mary Mendenhall of Roseburg, OR., Tanya(Robert)Babbitt of Medford, OR., nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; younger brothers Dr. Cleatis Lemley of Medford, OR., Wayne Lemley of Roseburg, OR., and Doyce Lemley of Princeton, TX. Memorial services were held Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at the I-5 Church of Christ in Roseburg, OR. Interment was in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
