Alvina Evelyn Ellison

Alvina Evelyn Ellison, 89 of Medford, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008 at her home. Alvina was born September 18, 1918, in Westhope, ND, to James and Clara (Lura) Ellison. She lived in Cottage Grove, OR for a number of years before moving to the Rogue Valley in 1954. She married Berwyn A. Ellison on March 5, 1942, in Oakland, CA, who preceded her in death in 1999. She was a homemaker and her favorite hobbies were gardening, flowers, embroidering, and cooking. Alvina journaled everything, and baked great apple pies. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church since 1954.
Alvina is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Dippold of Medford, OR, Linda Fletcher of Lake Oswego, OR, and Mary Louise Meirow of La Pine, and a son, Ronald W. Ellison of Eagle Point, OR. Alvina also has three surviving sisters, Marion Cariveau of East Grand Forks, MN, Blanch Breidenbach of Lester Prairie, MN, and Gladys Sundet of Gary, MN and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Alvina was not only preceded in death by her husband but by two brothers, two sisters, and two grandsons.
The family would like to specially "Thank" Alvina's caregivers at Rosemound Foster Care.
A public viewing will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2008, from 3-7:30p.m. at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane. There will be a funeral service for Alvina at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Cyril Hunkler of the Zion Lutheran Church will be officiating.
