Tony lost his 18-month battle with cancer November 22, 2012. He passed away quietly at his home in Jacksonville with his loving wife, Allison, at his side. He was just shy of his 52nd birthday. Tony was born December 4, 1960 at Fort Ord Military Base in California to Capt. Manuel (Retired U.S. Army) and E. Lorraine Santa Ana.
Tony loved spending time with his family and friends having BBQ's in the summer on the back deck, going camping and taking rides. Crater Lake was a favorite ride for him. He was an avid sports fan; football (S.F. 49ers), baseball (S.F. Giants) but NASCAR was his passion. He hardly ever missed a race, even if he had to DVR it. He was a mechanic for 22 years.
Tony is survived by his wife, Allison; mother and father, Manuel and Lorraine Santa Ana; sons, Anthony (Ashley) Santa Ana; Charles (Jody) Schaefer-Thorne and Coleman Thorne: daughters, Holly (Brandon) Stovall--Thorne and Nicole Thorne: grandsons, Anthony and Nicolas Santa Ana; granddaughters, Jane and Emily Metta: sisters, Romona (John) Gabbert and Janet Santa Ana; brother, Rober (Sherry) Santa Ana and numerous nieces and nephews.
