Billy Lewis Marshall passed away on August 26, 2020 in his sleep from complications of 3 recent heart attacks. He was born in Phoenix, OR on August 18, 1939, to Leady Mae (Frazier) Meyer and Edward Lewis Marshall.
In 1968, Bill married his wife Betty (Anderson) Marshall who survives. They raised his 3 children and her 3 children: Billy Marshall of Katy, TX, Sandra Garfield of Provo, UT, Cindy LeBlanc (Jim) of Katy, TX, Terry Cryst (John) of Prospect, OR, Sherry Marshall, Eagle Point, OR and Jerry Harris (Jaci) of Shady Cove.
He was grandpa to 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 3 gr-great-grandchildren.
He worked hard, spending 40 plus years driving truck to provide for his family. Finished his career working for Bob Kimmel Trucking hauling logs. His family was very important to him. He taught his boys great work ethics and his daughters the importance of changing the oil and tires on a car. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, and hunting. His most favorite times of the year were opening weekend of hunting season spent up in the Butte Falls area with his wife and family when they could be there and fishing at Hyatt and Howard Prairie.
He was definitely a fighter and survivor. He survived 2 major truck accidents in his lifetime that could have taken his life. The last couple of years had been extremely challenging for him with his failing health but he still pressed on. He loved the outdoors and if he had his way he would have stayed up in the mountains near a lake or river enjoying the peace and quiet hunting and fishing whenever he wanted.
We will always remember his witty personality that made us laugh. He tried to put on a gruff exterior and he was known to be somewhat of an ornery grumpy old man (picture the show UP). He was loved and will be missed.
Bill is also survived by his sister Jan and brother Larry Marshall, brother-in-law Robert Anderson, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, step dad Earnest C. Meyer, sister Betty Mae Workman and a great grandson Tyler Scott Marshall.
