Carmen Matilda Martinez, 57 years of Medford, Oregon passed away in her home with her family around her on Friday, March 18, 2011. Carmen was born on July 2, 1953 in Oakland, California to Manuel Gomez and Elsie S. (Rodriques) Martinez.
She enjoyed camping, fishing and family events. Carmen was employed in the warehouse at Harry & David's.
Carmen is survived by her partner, Yolanda R. Byrd; daughter, Ameran Gilmore; step-children, Renee Villarino of Medford and Aaron Byrd of Hayward, CA; sisters, Lupe Ayala, of Modesto, CA; Mary Lilley, Elsie Melgoza of Fremont, CA; Frances Curtis, Irene Martinez of Hayward, CA; Barbara Lozano of Richmond, CA; brothers, Alfred Martinez of Hayward, CA; Manuel Martinez of Pelso, Ark; Rudy Martinez of Berkely, CA and 11 grandchildren and many many nieces & nephews.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel G. and Elsie Martinez; brothers, Eugene, Angel, Albert and Tomas Martinez and sister, Margaret Martinez.
A viewing will be held at Memory Gardens Chapel from 3:00pm - 7:30pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
