Carol Gertrude Bowers 97, of Medford, Oregon passed away on Saturday, December 8th. She was born September 17, 1921 in Salem, Oregon to Warren William Herman Clark and Gertrude Jane Luthy Clark.
Carol lived for 40 years on Western Carriage Estates and spent her last three years at Avamere. She graduated from Salem High School in 1938; Willamette University in 1942 and Graduate School of Library Science in 1944. She married John Harrison Bowers Jr. February 13, 1944 at Jason Lee United Methodist Church in Salem, Oregon. She worked in the Portland Public Library Cataloging Department in 1945 and later in life was a homemaker.
Her hobbies included piano, gardening, fishing and camping. She was part of the United Methodist Women, was a Girl Scout Leader and PTA president.
She is survived by her son, James Clark Bowers; daughter Sue Lynne Deramo; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband.
