Christina Ellen McCarty, 88, of Medford, Ore. passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at her home. She was born on December 24, 1924 to Thomas and Jessie Landing in Talent, Ore.
Rex E. and Christina E. McCarty were married in Reno, Nev. on December 15, 1941 and made their home in the valley in 1942. She worked at the Shasta County Opportunity Center in Redding, Cal. for several years. She enjoyed crochet and reading.
Christina is survived by son, Richard McCarty and wife Joan of Central Point, Ore.;three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Rex; sisters, Elsie Gunter, Georgia Adamson and Mildred Whitaker; brothers, Ralph and Donald Landing.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Memory Gardens Mortuary, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, Ore. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn will officiate.
