Crocker J. Hunter, 82 of Central Point, Oregon passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, August 24, 2013. Crock was born in Oakland, CA. He moved to Medford with his parents in 1950. In 1951 he met Jody and they were married for 62 years. He is survived by 4 children, 4 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He worked for Consolidated Freightways for many years and then for Balzer Equipment, where he retired from.
He always had an intense interest in cars and racing, as a competitor and observer. He enjoyed restoring street rods. This developed into he and Jody becoming members of the Rogue Valley Street Rods in 1987.
As a young couple, he and Jody loved to camp and water ski on the Rogue River, where all four children learned to ski. They also took summer vacations at Shasta Lake. For the past eleven years they spent 2 1/2 winter months in their motor home at River Lodge Resort, Parker Dam, CA. There they golfed on the 9 hole course and spent time with what they called their winter family.
He was loved by all who came to know him. He was very family oriented. He, Jody and children regularly got together for holidays, birthdays and any other excuse to have a family gathering. There will be a Memory Run of Street Rod members following the service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel.
