Donna Mae Keeslar

Donna Keeslar of Eagle Point Oregon passed away on June 9, 2012. She resided at Clara's Care Home in Medford for the last year. She was 85 years young. There will be a gathering to remember and celebrate her life on June 30, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.at the Ashpole Center at City Hall in Eagle Point. She was born Donna Mae Smith to parents Dudley Poke Smith, Sr. and Ora Isabelle Cavin Smith in Hornbrook California on August 29, 1926. She was the third of eight children, growing up and going to school in Butte Falls. Brothers: Pokey Smith & Doug Smith; Sisters: Mary Cozo, Myrtle Mitchell, Nona Stayton, Jackie Spearin, June Moore. She married Ralph L. Keeslar in 1952, he passed away in 1977. They raised two sons, Bill and Terry Keaton, in Eagle Point. Donna has three grandsons: Dennis & Ross (sons of Terry) and Justin (son of Bill); and four great grandchildren by Terry: Amanda, Jessie, Noah and Marae. Donna was a long time waitress and assistant manager at Bateman's Caf in Medford; she worked in several other local restaurants as well. . She enjoyed singing, playing music, dancing, crocheting, traveling, but most of all gardening. Her flowers were her great joy. Survivors include: son Bill (Kim) Keaton of Eagle Point, son Terry (Mary Lynn) Keaton of Gold Hill, grandson Dennis (Kimra) Keaton of Prineville, grandson Ross (Jaclyn) Keaton of Eagle Point, grandson Justin Keaton; great grandchildren: Jessie of Prineville, Amanda, Noah and Marae of Eagle Point; brother Doug (Bobbie) Smith of Butte Falls, sister Nona (Carol) Stayton of Phoenix, sister Jackie (Jim) Spearin of Red Bluff CA, & sister June Moore of Sandpoint ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Pokey, and sisters Mary & Myrtle. She was interred at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford www.memorygardensmortuary.com Donations in Donna's memory can be made to the Eagle Point Senior Center.
