Ernest Everett Chriss, 79, of Medford, Ore., passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010, at his home. He was born July 27, 1930, in Patoka, Ill., to Radford and Freda (Jarrett) Chriss.
In 1951, in Marathon City, Wis., he married Shirley Mae Lemmer. Ernie served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic with Pacific Power and Light Corp. for 40 years. He had been a member of the Medford B.P.O.E., Moose Lodge and VFW. He enjoyed farming and operating his tractor.
Ernie is survived by three children: sons, Ken Chriss, of Medford, Ore., and Steve Chriss, of Portland, Ore.; and daughter, Vicki Rea, of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley; his parents; and five brothers, Wayne, Clyde, Robert, Paul and Don.
He will be interred next to Shirley in a private family ceremony in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford, Ore. Memorial contributions are suggested to Asante Hospice.
