Eugene (Bud) Piazza of Ashland, Ore. passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Rogue Valley Memorial Hospital after a long battle with complications due to kidney failure. He was 58 years old.
Eugene was born and raised in Medford, Ore. and graduated from Medford High School in 1973. He distinguished himself on the football field and the wrestling mat for the Black Tornados. He went on to play college football for Western Washington. Displaying his characteristic toughness, he started at defensive guard for the Vikings, while only weighing 185 pounds. He later graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School, and was practicing law in Southern Oregon at the time of his death.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Pat Piazza of Jacksonville, Ore. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Cobb and brother, Stephen Piazza, both of Lake Oswego, Ore.; and his partner, Donis Rothstein of Ashland, Ore.
Eugene will be remebered as a very caring and loyal friend, who always kept a positive outlook regardless of the situation. He will be missed by many. No service is planned at this time.
