Eva Davis Townsend, born September 19, 1923, in Preston, Idaho, daughter of Ivan Earl Davis and Vilate (Fellows) Davis, was called home Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Eva was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and was married to Homer Taylor Townsend June 29, 1942, in Carson City, Nev. They lived at times in San Francisco, Calif., Bingham Canyon, Utah, Whitehall, Mont., San Jose, Calif., Sacramento, Calif., Medford, Ore., and Ashland, Ore. Eva has resided in Talent, Ore., for the last 34 years. Eva was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she and Homer raised a fine LDS family. She excelled in knitting, crocheting, tole painting and working with ceramics and porcelain.
She was preceded in death by husband, Homer Taylor Townsend, in 1975; and sisters, Virginia Bond, Reba Young, and Wilma Jean Hausauer. Eva is survived by sister, Shirley Jorgensen, of San Jose, Calif; sons, Warren (Patricia) Townsend, of Kelso, Wash., and Jeffrey (Carolyn) Townsend, of Talent, Ore.; daughters, Lynda (Kent) Hughes, of Orem, Utah, and Elaine (Leonard) Corson, of Orem, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Eva will be greatly missed by her family and many wonderful friends from her senior community in Talent, Ore., and by members of her LDS Ward and the Grange. We would like to thank Maureen Hunter for the help, care and friendship she has provided to Eva.
A memorial service will be held at the Ashland Ward of the LDS church, 111 Clay St., Ashland, on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
