F. Jeanie Kanady Taylor reunited with her husband in Heaven Thursday, May 29, 2013, after a valiant fight with cancer.
Jeanie was born March 30, 1930, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Thomas Floy Kanady and Lela Mae Finley Kanady. She worked at Sears in her earlier years and later alongside her husband for The Wall Street Journal. In her last years, she delighted in praying for and spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was looking forward to her first great great grandchild, Dylan Jean, who is on her way. Jeanie was affectionately known as a fiery redhead. She was proud of her Christian faith, Irish heritage, and the fact that she lived independently with her dachshund, Chester, who adored her. She married Henry "Hank" Taylor (her husband of 62 years) in Visalia, Calif. June 21, 1947.
She leaves behind her only child, Sandy Cathcart (husband Cat), of Prospect, Ore.; five grandchildren, Julius Cathcart, Idaho, Robert Cathcart, Temecula, Calif., Michelle Clarno, Vancouver, Wash., Clay Cathcart, Medford, Ore., and Jocelyn Cathcart, Central Point, Ore.; fourteen great-grandchildren (all of whom she dearly loved); and two brothers, Bill Kanady, Medford, Ore., and Roy Collins, Palm Desert, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford, Ore., 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013. All are invited to join us in celebrating her life.
