Floyd Gene Kasper passed away April 14th, 2018 just 4 months shy of his 90th birthday. His family was by his side as he walked his final journey home. Floyd was born on August 13th 1928 in Klamath Falls, OR to Eli & Rebecca Mae Kasper. He moved to Eureka CA with his family in 1948. Floyd became a Christian at the age of 19. He was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church.
It was in Eureka where he met and married the love of his life, Faye Lorene Henderson. They were married 64 years, 7 months and 21 days. Before his memory began to challenge him he would proudly state that statistic to friends and strangers alike.
He worked for many years as a service man and dispatcher with Pacific Gas & Electric Co. In 2004 he and Faye moved to Medford, OR. to be close to their children.
Floyd enjoyed gardening, golf & baseball (especially watching and/or attending San Francisco Giant’s games). He and Faye loved traveling and visited Hawaii several times, attended church camp most summers and went on many road trips throughout the United States. They also loved attending any event that their beloved grand children were part of.
Floyd was very active in his church. One of his favorite ministries was visiting those who were incarcerated in jails and prisons. His children found letters to him from inmates in Pelican Bay and San Quentin. He shared his own journey with them and offered them hope without judgement. That was evident in their letters to him.
In addition to Faye, he was preceded in death by his parent and four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his children: Calvin Kasper, Joyce Hanlin (Rod), Joni Toews (Dan), Clifton Kasper (Barbara) as well as eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will he held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 20th, 2018 at the Apostolic Faith Church, 285 Sunrise Ave, Medford, OR. He will be laid to rest with Faye in a private family interment at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Floyd’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers and medical aides at Northridge Assisted Living for not only caring for, but loving him as well. They are also thankful for the Providence Hospice team for their support and care in his final days.
Enjoy heaven Dad – we will see you and Mom again one day. We love you so!
