Gary Leland Howard, 63, of Applegate, Ore., passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at his home. He was born August 22, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah. to Lorenzo M. Howard and Doris Fitzgerald Howard. On May 4, 1974 he married Pamela Jean Tarrant, who survives. Gary and Pam lived in the Applegate for over 30 years. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including four-wheeling, hunting, shooting, and camping. Gary served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors, in addition to Pamela, include his father, Col. Lorenzo Mathew Howard Jr. and stepmother, Margene of Sacramento, Calif;, two daughters, Jennifer Oliver of Grants Pass, Ore., and Jill Dodson of Applegate, Ore.; and three grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Fitzgerald Howard and sister, Becky Howard.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford. Memory Gardens Memorial Park & Mortuary are in care of arrangements.
