George Edward Ebert, 87, died peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on September 20, 2017 in Medford OR.
George was born on December 27, 1929 in St Croix Falls Wisconsin to Henry Joseph Ebert and Francis Ruth Klein. His family moved to Rockaway Oregon in 1943. George worked hard throughout his life to care for his family often working two jobs in the early years. In 1970, he successfully opened an art supply and framing business in Coos Bay Oregon and eventually expanded operations to Medford Oregon. After 27 years George retired and sold the store now known as Central Art Supply to his son. In 2000 George and his wife Winifred served a temple mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Philippines for 18 months. During and before retirement George could always be counted on to lend a helping hand whether it was a building project or helping at the LDS church pear farm. George set a great example in life for all, his wife and children cherish the opportunities they had working with him over the years.
George is survived by his wife Winifred Ebert of Medford OR and his 10 children; Holly Juttelstad of Tigard OR, Ed Ebert of Vancouver WA, Joe Ebert of Alpine UT, Jeff Ebert of Ogden UT, Dan Ebert of Medford OR. His stepchildren Elizabeth Admire of Sublimity OR, Deborah Byers of Round Top TX, Dan Cofoed of Selma OR, Vicki Nelson of Talent OR, Don Cofoed of Bend OR and his 40 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; his brother Cliff Ebert of Forest Grove OR and Ken Ebert of Medford OR. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Ebert and sister Cathy Smith.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 29th 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 3456 Bellinger Lane, Medford OR. All are welcome to attend and celebrate George's life. Donations may be sent to the 4th ward Fast offering or the Salvation Army.
