George Kermit Neville, 82, of Medford, Oregon, passed away June 14, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born April 15, 1936 in Medford, Oregon to Veda Marie (Browning) and David James Neville.

George attended grade schools in both Savannah, Missouri and Prospect, Oregon, graduating from Prospect High School in 1954. He then served a total of four years in the Air Force, which included two years in Germany and two years in the United States. He attended his freshman year of college at Ventura Junior College in California and graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor’s degree in forestry from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He married Maria Ann Chard on June 9, 1962 in Reno, Nevada and their marriage was later solemnized on June 11, 1964 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.

George was employed as a Forester/Timber Manager for the BLM in both Roseburg and Medford for a total of 30 years, retiring at the age of 57. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in several capacities including: Elders Quorum President, High Councilman, and Bishop. Later in his life he also served as a Temple Ordinance worker in the Medford LDS Temple. His hobbies included: farming, cattle raising, mountain backpacking, basketball, tennis, and most importantly the support of and association with his 10 children and 37 grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years and his 10 children, JoAnna (Alan) Myler of Ririe, Idaho, Lyle (Lesley) Neville of Tualatin, Ore., Todd (Janette) Neville of Grants Pass, Ore., Nick (Connie) Neville of Medford, Ore., Michael Jon (Kim) Neville of Vienna, Va., Holly (Andy) Zuro of Washoe, Nev., Daniel (Jacqueline) Neville of Medford, Ore., Shane (Mackenzie) Neville of Medford, Ore., Joshua (Kate) Neville of Medford, Ore., and Geordan (Lorianne) Neville of Medford, Ore.; a sister, Mary Lou (Jim) King of Juneau, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dee Neville and Clarence Neville.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bellinger Lane LDS chapel, located at 3456 Bellinger Lane, Medford, OR, under the direction of Bishop Pat Abernethy.
