Glyn D. (Gyn) Werdell, 79, of Jacksonville, Ore., passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Farmington Square Nursing Facility. She was born in Ackerly, Texas, to Pleasant Johnson Holder and Edna Olive Schilling.
She married Max T. Everts, Sr. in La Mesa, Texas, in 1947, and had Max "Tom" Everts, Jr. and Jeffrey Don Everts. Gyn's employment took her to several states, including Texas, Georgia, New Mexico, Michigan and Oregon. Her careers included beautician, restaurant hostess and manager, realtor and a banker. While in Oregon, she lived in both Grants Pass and Jacksonville.
Twenty-seven of those years were spent with her former husband, Lee Werdell. He was the light of her life. Their life was filled with a passion of gardening and collecting antiques. Mutual separation ended the marriage and Gyn spent her final years at Barnett Woods and then at Farmington Square. With the help of caring staff, her life then became devoted to "Mattie" her faithful cat.
She is survived by sons, Tom (Debi Johnson) Everts, and Jeffrey D. Everts, all of Medford. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
