Itol Alice Downing (Roberts)

Itol A. Downing died peacefully on Feb. 12, 2015 at Serenity Harbor Adult Foster Home in Medford, OR. She was born Itol Alice Roberts on March 8, 1924 in Lostine, OR to James L. and Bertha Roberts. On Sept. 10, 1944, she married Weldon Downing who preceded her in death in 1994. Her brother William Roberts, and sisters Orlena Smith and Roberta Dalve also preceded her in death.
Itol was a long time resident and beloved citizen of Prospect, OR. Through her jobs with the Prospect school district, she was able to meet and befriend multiple generations of many local families. She was a member of the Prospect Baptist Church and enjoyed church and community activities
Her son, Ray Downing, daughter Linda O'Neal, grandchildren Seth Downing and Sara Wilson, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren survive her.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, February 19 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, OR.
