James Pond Adams, 81, of Medford, Ore. passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1932 to Elva and Thelma (Pond) Adams in Burbank, S.D.
James moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 with his family from South Dakota. James was in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1950 to 1954 in Korea. He and Mary Kathryn Rozell were married August 28, 1954 in Medford, Ore. He worked for over 38 years in the timber industry. James enjoyed fishing, rock hounding, playing guitar, and his dog, Buddy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn; sons, Craig Adam, of Central Point, Ore., Alva Adams, of Medford, and Daren Adams, of Butte Falls, Ore; a daughter; a sister; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Memory Gardens Mortuary, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, OR 97501. Memorial contributions may be made in James' name to the American Cancer Society and Alzheimer's Association.
