JOE A. VELHO The funeral mass for Joe Angelo Velho will be on Thursday at in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Liam Cary officiating. Graveside services will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Mr. Velho, 80, of Medford, died Sunday, Apr. 29, 2007. He was born Apr. 26, 1927 in Flores, Azores, Portugal. On July 21, 1973 in Monterey, CA he married Anita F. Stewart, who survives. He had lived in the Rogue Valley for the past 30 years, moving here from Fort Bragg, CA. He worked for Medite Corporation as a forklift operator for many years, until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Velho enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, outdoors and was very proud in serving at St. Vincent DePaul. He loved his family and his grandchildren. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors in addition to his wife, include: two sons, Joe E. and Celeste Velho; Anthony D. and Amy Velho; a brother, Alvaro and Rosalie Velho; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Isabel, Mary, William and Lucia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Zulmira Furtado. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.
