John Charles Pinkham, 91, of Central Point, Oregon, died November 27, 2014 at Avamere at Waterford Senior Center in Medford, Oregon. Mr. Pinkham was born in Declo, Idaho to Nathan and Alice( Moon)Pinkham on March 10, 1923. He had seven brothers and one sister who are now deceased.
John left high school his senior year to join the service, but earned his GED after coming home in 1946. Mr. Pinkham entered the Army Air Corps in 1942 and was sent to Fort Lewis Washington for induction. John excelled in service training and was sent to Coffeeville, Kansas to be trained on the Lockheed P-38 Lightning where he then served in the Air Force as a photo reconnaissance pilot in the Pacific region during WWII.
John was married to Barbara Anders from 1947 until her death on September 21, 2014. He worked in sales for both Anders Photo Shop and Morse Motors and finished his career working at ESD managing school supplies for Rogue Valley schools.
He is survived by his daughter Susan Lea Pinkham and son, Steven John Pinkham. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, Oregon. Memory Gardens Memorial Park & Mortuary in care of arrangements.
