Kirk Routsong, Age 57, passed away February 17, 2020 at his home in Medford, Oregon. He was born December 28, 1962 to John Richard and Margaret Clark Routsong in Woodland Hills, California. At the age of 5, his mother and father divorced and he subsequently moved to Corvallis, Oregon, where he lived from 1970 until 1973. In June of 1973, Kirk, his mother and brother Lee moved to Ashland, Oregon where they built a house and lived next door to his Uncle and Aunt, Fred and Donna Clark.Kirk was active in both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 1979 in Troop 113.He served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arequipa, Peru, where he became fluent in Spanish.Kirk attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he studied Psychology. Moved back home to Ashland, Oregon Kirk was hired, due to his Spanish speaking skills, to work in the State of Oregon Department of Human Services. He was very active serving as the Union Representative for the fellow employees in that Department.Kirk transferred to the Social Security Administration where he worked for 20+ years.Kirk Loved the outdoors and adventure. He rafted and kayaked the Rogue River; snow skied and enjoyed motorcycle riding. Kirk will be remembered for his sense of humor, pleasant manner, work ethic and people skills.He survived by his brother Lee (Kathy) Routsong of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved him. A graveside service will be held at 4 pm, Saturday February 22nd at the Stearns Cemetery, Anderson Creek Road, Talent, Oregon
