Laura Malinda Aalto , age 62 years, passed on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in her Medford, Oregon home of natural causes. Laura is survived by her brother Eric S.P. Aalto of San Diego, CA; sister Anne A. Aalto-Harvey and husband Daren Harvey of Woodstock, CT; her niece Macy Aalto, San Diego, CA., nephew Emerson Aalto, San Francisco, CA an aunt and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Ensio and Barbara Aalto, longtime residents of Bridgewater, MA.
Laura was born on July 31, 1956 in Oakland, CA. She grew up in Bridgewater, MA and graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School, Bridgewater, MA in 1974 . She followed in her mother's footsteps and graduated from Bates College, Lewiston, ME where she earned a BS in 1978, followed by an MBA from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. She accepted a position in hospital administration at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, CA and eventually transferred to Fairfield, CA. She worked for Meals on Wheels and lastly settled in Medford running her own animal business, became an experimental marketer and worked during the towns elections.
Laura was a proud Finnish American, loved travel and other cultures, politics and deeply loved animals. Her life was dedicated to her animals taking in many rescues during her lifetime. She adored dog sitting for friends. Her family and friends will always remember her as a bright, humorous, kind and loving person.
