Lee Howard Greene

Lee Howard Greene, a computer and technology consultant and volunteer in many community organizations, died suddenly at his Medford home June 22, 2024. Born in Englewood, New Jersey to Leonard Greene and Myrna Bermann Greene, he grew up in Paramus, New Jersey, where he attended schools and graduated from Paramus High School in the Class of 1969.
At Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he studied Applied Psychology, graduating with honors in 1973. He then attended the University of California at Berkeley, attaining a master's degree in psychology and the Juris Doctorate from Boldt Hall School of Law.
Lee is survived by his younger siblings, Jayne Greene (Louis Viola) and Marc, niece Cassandra (Jacob Chamoun), nephew Max, great nephew Jonah, and first cousins Lisa Melchior (Ric Freymond), David Bermann (Angelina), Steven Greene (Tiffani) and Julie Durnell (Charles).
He began his professional career in 1980 as an attorney-at-law in New York, New York, subsequently moving to Los Angeles, where he practiced as a civil and trial attorney. He curtailed his law practice in the late 1990's and moved to the Medford, Oregon area as he transitioned into a career in technology, including website development, graphics and audio-visual and systems support. At the time of his passing, he was employed by 1-800 Flowers, the parent company of Harry & David, where he provided human resources data analysis and software access services.
He became active in the Presbyterian Church, first in Belair, California and then in Medford, Oregon at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served in leadership positions including deacon, audio-visual coordinator, Medford Gospel Mission dinner leader and sang in the choir. Westminster was a vital part of his Oregon family, providing much support to him over many years in many ways.
Lee shared his volunteer and leadership skills and passion for the arts with many local organizations, including Rogue Opera, Rogue Valley Chorale, Siskiyou Singers, and the Britt Festival. He home hosted many classical musicians as well as hockey players. In addition to singing, he was an avid chef and a published music and theatre reviewer.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive, Medford, OR 97504.
