Letha Mccurdy Sweet

Letha McCurdy Sweet, age 99, of Medford, OR passed on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her home in the Rogue Valley Manor. She was born March 9, 1913 in Enidcott, NE. to Clyde and Ida (Colson) McCurdy.
She married Les Narvaez who preceded her in death. Later in life she married Charles "Chuck" Sweet who preceded her in 1999. Letha had been an executive secretary for the State of California for many years and had also worked for UC Davis in nemotology research. She and Chuck came to the Rogue Valley in 1981 from Walnut Creek, CA. After retirement they enjoyed many great years together. Letha was active in local events such as community concerts and the Rogue Valley Symphony. She enjoyed crafts, making and donated many clothing items to local Veterans associations and needy children causes. Letha was also involved in the Fairy Godmother program.
Survivors include a grandniece Vickie Curry of Fairbury, NE; a niece Barb Garnish and family of Central Point, OR; nephew Bob (Catherine) Harrison of Plattesburgh, NY. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Chester, Clifford, Raymond and Edna.
A celebration of Letha's life will be held at 3:30om on April 25, 2012 at the Sunrise Room at the Rogue Valley Manor. Letha will be laid to rest beside Chuck in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
