Lois Helen Coffindaffer

July 24, 1925 — September 18, 2011

Lois Helen Coffindaffer, age 86, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011.
Lois was born July 24, 1925, in Sedgewick, Kansas to Noble and Claudine Plaster. Later she lived in Colorado, then moved to Calif., where she worked for Lockheed Aircraft as a blueprint operator during World War II.
In 1951, Lois moved to Coos Bay, Oregon where she met William A. Coffindaffer, her husband of 60 years, and in 1968 they moved to the Rogue Valley with their family.
Her interests ranged from the creative to the caring. Beauty was a tremendous part of who she was, inside and out, and she created that beauty through painting, patching together memories and family through sewing and quilting, or sowing life in her garden. She knew that her creation not only gave birth to beautiful things, but also happiness, in herself and others around her. She was always ready with a loving smile, twinkle in her eye and easy laugh.
Lois is survived by her husband; three children, Paula Rice of Gold Hill, Ore., Susan Rider of Phoenix, Ore., Bill, of Mechelen, Belgium; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
She will always be beloved and cherished by all she has left behind, whether she was Lois, Nana, Mom, or Grandma C.
No service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Dogs for the Deaf, 10175 Wheeler Rd, Central Point, OR, 97502.
