Peggy crossed over to her new life in heaven June 8, 2012, at the age of 95. She was born September 10, 1916, in Athens, Tenn., to Joseph and Martha Malone, the eldest daughter of seven children. At age 17, Peggy and her entire family relocated from Tennessee to Albany, Ore.
Peggy was married to Harvey Lee Cobb for 20 years. The couple lived most of their married life in San Bernardino, Calif. Harvey died in 1972 and Peggy retired in 1978 from Patton State Hospital after 25 years of service.
Peggy relocated to Oregon, living mostly in the Albany/Salem area until health issues brought her to Medford to be closer to family. Peggy enjoyed gardening, shopping, lunch dates, reading, and feeding her song birds. She especially loved her grandson, Nathan.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Tom) Suttle; grandson, Nate Suttle, of Medford, Ore.; her youngest sister, Rexine Pond, of Kennewick, Wash.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A family memorial will be held this summer in Albany, Ore.
Cindy would like to thank Dr. Doug Hecox, Dr. Ken Lightheart, Dr. Mark Greenberg, Dr. Merrill, and the staff at Rogue Valley Medical Center for their kind care over the seven years that Mom lived in Medford. Special thanks goes to Connie Kidd, the staff at Wynwood of Rogue Valley, and Providence Hospice for their compassionate care at the end of Mom's life.
