Michael J. Langley

December 21, 1945 — April 27, 2018

Michael J Langley, 72, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 in Port Townsend, Washington.  He will be laid to rest at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Oregon. Michael is survived by one son Alex Langley of Minnesota and his wife Alisa, two grandchildren, siblings Beth, David, Patrick, Paul and Peter, many nieces and nephews, and former wife Meredith of Medford, Oregon.  He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia, sister Mary Katherine, and first wife Christina.

Michael graduated from Phoenix High School in 1964, and then enlisted with the Army, serving his country honorably during the Vietnam War.  After his military service he joined Bank of America as pro-assistant cashier, met and married his first wife Christina there, and built a career in product development up to Vice President, creating computerized banking systems that formed the basis of home banking as we know it today.  His job assignments included multiple stints in Southeast Asia, affording many adventures and unique experiences for his family.

Fond memories include: long drives through the Wine Country of Napa Valley, California, watching him be very handy around the house, grilling on his favorite Weber, Sunday afternoon fondue dinners in front of the TV, rafting down Rogue River, steak and lobster dinners at The Moorings, blasting E.L.O. and Supertramp on the patio in the Philippines, Tuesday nights at Jimmy’s Kitchen in Hong Kong, Summer evenings at Prospect Historical Hotel.  His hobbies included cars, painting, playing classical guitar, collecting interesting artwork, hiking and landscaping.

He was a creative, talented, generous, hard-working man who provided a great life for his family.  He had a sincere heart and would not hesitate to help a person in need. Rest in peace, Dad.
