Monte James Jones

Monte James Jones was born in St. Anthony, Idaho on Feb. 28, 1918 to Thelma Worrell and Percy Rowe Jones. He grew up in Southern California. He was very athletic, excelling in football and track. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Pacific. On April 15, 1942 he married Nan Hakes while stationed in Arizona. They moved to the Medford area in 1954 where they raised their three sons and two nephews.

Monte lived a life of service to his family, church, and country. He was a devoted husband and father and set a worthy example to his sons. He was a hard worker and worked at Tucker Snow Cat. He also was a welder in a steel fabrication business, making bunks and stakes for logging trucks for several years. After moving to Utah in 1989, he served 15 years in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Monte is survived by Monte and Jan Jones, Centerville, Utah, Bill and Lorie Jones, and Bryant and Jeanette Jones, Kent, Washington, Walter and Karen Stewart, Provo, Utah and John and Laree Stewart, Snowflake, Arizona. He leaves 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service on Feb. 28 at 10 AM in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Medford, Oregon.
