Opal Adell Monia, 95, of White City, OR passed Tuesday, April 1, 2014. She was born Feb. 17, 1919 in Medford to Walter Charley and Bertha Bryan. In 1936 she married Eldred Eugene Monia who preceded her in 1982. Opal lived and worked most of her life ranching and farming in the Brownsboro, Climax, Eagle Point area. She knew what hard work was all about. She had milked cows, put up hay and picked fruit. Opal enjoyed sewing, crocheting and painting. She had been a member of the Central Point Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons; David Monia of White City, Ronald Monia of White City, two daughters; Linda Pesterfield of White City and Dena Leong of Medford, daughter in law Beverly Monia of Las Vegas , two sisters; Clarabelle Storm of Central Point and Eunice Richardson of Medford, 16 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband Eldred, three sons; Albert Eugene, Sr., Walter Floyd & William Jacob, daughter Eldean Fay , four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Memory Gardens. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Providence Hospice.
