Ora A. Debrick, 85, of Central Point, Ore., passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Alderwood Assisted Living. She was born March 4, 1925, in Hildebrand, Ore., to William and Viola Smyth.
Ora came from a large family of eight children and attended schools in Klamath County. She married Clarence E. Debrick April 12, 1941, and they moved to the Rogue Valley in 1950. As a professional housewife and mother, she enjoyed canning, sewing, quilting and crocheting.
She was involved in many organizations over the years; including, Mt. Pitt Rebekah Lodge #167, Central Point Grange, 4-H (home economics judge), Jackson County Fair (superintendent), Central Point Senior Center (Supporter), SMART reading program, Providence Hospice (volunteer), Central Point Police (volunteer), Federal Census and Jackson County Elections.
Survivors include sons, William, Wayne and Wade Debrick, all of the Rogue Valley; daughters, Donna Debrick, of Eugene and Diann Williams of the Rogue Valley; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Ora was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Clarence Debrick and Jim Corliss; and three siblings.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, officiated by James F. Fields, Chaplain of the Central Point Police Department. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice, 940 Royal Avenue, Medford, OR 97504.
