Patricia Ann McColgin was born in 1926, in Lincoln, Neb., to John and Blanche (Campbell) Starr. She grew up in Alma, Neb., where her father was an attorney and county judge. She attended college in Kearney, Neb.
In 1945, she married Merton W. Madison. They had one daughter, Linda Kay, born in 1946, in Holdrege, Neb. Her husband died in 1964. She was employed as a secretary for many years, including 10 years in the Holdrege High School Principal's office.
In 1971, she moved to Roseburg, Ore., and married Cyrus McColgin. They lived in Malin, Ore. When Cyrus retired in 1989 from his grocery business, they moved to Shady Cove and built a house on the Rogue River. They moved to Central Point until her husband's death. She then moved to Fountain Plaza in Medford where she had many friends.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Holdrege and P.E.O. in Alma, Neb., and Easter Star in Loop City, Neb. Patricia enjoyed square dancing, music, travel and reading.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Linda Beste, of Ashland, Ore.; granddaughter, Hadley Monteith, of Virginia Beach, Va.; stepdaughters, Marcia Patrasek, of Central Point, Ore., and Andrea Rollins, of Medford, Ore.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
