Pat McKelvy Porter was born in Los Angleles, CA. on March 29, 1928 and passed peacefully at home on July 11, 2012 at the age of 84. She married her high school sweetheart, Roy Porter, on August 2, 1946 in Coquille, OR. They were married 30 years and resided in Medford.
She was a very devoted mom and grandmother, always full of energy and spunk. Her activities included being the Wilson School PTA President, American Little League's Player Agent, Babe Ruth Baseball President and working as a sales clerk at a local Womens clothing store. She never missed a function or a ballgame her children or grandchildren were involved with.
Pat was always active, starting with her being a cheerleader for the Coquille High School Red Devils. She was outgoing and always ready to share a laugh with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy, her parents Mac & Opal McKelvy, a son Slug Porter and her grandson Stacy Schrag.
Survivorss include her daughter Peggy Porter and son Kelly Porter of Medford, OR., stepgrandson Pat Pepper and his son Patrick of Aurora, CO.
Kelly was mom's primary caregiver 24/7 for several years. Thank you also to Dr. Basin and Dr. Schultz.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at a location to be determined.
Pat will be laid to rest beside Roy in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Memory Gardens Memorial Park & Mortuary in care of arrangements.
