Pennie Lynn (Voien) Stamper passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013, peacefully at her home in Central Point, Oregon, with her family by her side. Pennie was born June 2, 1942 in Long Beach, California to Lorentz and Marian (Godard) Voien, the oldest of three daughters.
Pennie married Larry Stamper in 1963, in Torrance, California. They moved to Medford, Oregon in 1970 and settled on a farm near Jacksonville. they later divorced and Pennie and her children moved back to Torrance in 1980. She later returned to the farm and lived there from 1996 to 2005, she then moved to her dream home in Central Point, Oregon.
In the early years, she worked the farm raising beef cattle and other farm animals and tended to a beautiful vegetable garden. When she returned to the Rogue Valley, she continued her banking career as a teller, until she retired in 2002. She was an avid reader and also loved watching old westerns on T.V. She later became a cat lover and adopted her beautiful calico, Mary.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea (Stamper) Toombs and her significant other, Greg Miller, of Astoria, Oregon; son, Lucas (Utahna) Stamper, of Medford, Oregon; granddaughters, Alexis Miller and Sierra Walker, sisters, Candy Hughes of Grants Pass, Oregon and Laurie (Joe) Richardson of Ventura, California; nephews, Kris (Jade) Hughes, Kasey (Tiffany) Hughes and Wes (Josettte) Richardson; and great-nieces and nephews, MacKenzie, Parker, Sariah and Kameron.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford OR with Chaplain Fred Grewe officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local humane society or animal shelter.
