Richard Lowell Harper

Richard Lowell "Dick" Harper, 74, passed on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at his home in Central Point. Dick was born Apr. 15, 1934 in Martinez, CA. He married Linda Carol Harper in 1988 in Salem, OR. He worked for the State of Oregon for 23 years. First at the State Penitentury in Salem then later for the Highway Dept. They came to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from Newport, OR. He enjoyed making jerky, fishing and making ornaments from aluminum cans. Survivors in addition to Carol include three sons; Steven Harper of Newport, WA., Scott Harper of Hebo, OR., Jefferey Ilgefritz of Salem, OR., four daughters; Jennifer Davis of FL., Lori Dempsey of FL., Laura Brown of Colburn, CO., and Staci Olsen of Sidney, MT., a sister Lois Marchant of Medford, two brothers; Gary Harper of Medford and Ronald Harper of Talent, 14 Grandchildern and 6 Great Grandchildren. Dicks ashes will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR. Memorial contributions can be made to the OR. Cancer Society.
