Richard Dale Leavitt, age 66, of Medford, OR, passed Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 in Portland, OR. He was born May 18, 1945 in Ontario, OR. to Orson L. & Eliza (Blair) Leavitt. Richard married Rouletta "Roly" A. Hao in 1980 in Reno, NV.
Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Richard worked in the woods as a timber feller prior to his working for the Dept. of Public Works in Shady Cove, OR.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jacksonville Ward.
Richard had a strong passion for nature, which he loved to share with his family through hunting, fishing, and camping trips.
He is survived by his wife Roly, children; Cindy Kaminsky of AZ., Coral Carlson of OR., Robin Proctor of CO., and Jeremy Leavitt of OR., sisters Ruth Boyd of AZ., Eileen Hardy of ID, brothers Melvin of WA., Boyd of WA., Lloyd of AZ., and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3456 Bellinger Lane, Medford, OR. Private family committal will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
