Richard Thomas Barker passed away Firday, March 23, 2012 of cancer related causes at the age of 69. He lived in the Eugene-Springfield area since 1989. He was a successful business owner, which he started the same year.
Rich loved to fish, travel, golf and camp with his many friends. He loved life and people and was an avid Oregon Duck fan. He loved nothing more than spending time with friends, family and his grandchildren. He could always be found with a cribbage board close by. He was very social and loved being around people. Rich never retired, as he loved running his business and it became a hobby as well as his livelihood.
He loved his wife and family and will be deepley missed by them.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, his sons: David Barker of Eugene,OR., Dan Barker of Portland,OR., Rich Potterf of Bonney Lake, WA; Randy Potterf of Brush Praire, WA; and daughters: Julie Williams of Gilbert, AZ and Lori Burke of Eugene. He is also survived by his mother, Iretta Barker and sisters: Cheryl Cummings and Nancy Grabner all of the Medford area; and brother, Dennis Barker of Eugene.
Services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, March 30, 2012 at Memory Gardens Chapel,1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, OR., with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be Saturday, March 31 at 4:00 p.m. at the couple's home in Springfield.
