Richard Wallace Talley

Richard Wallace Talley, age 86, of Central Point, Oregon passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at his home. He was born in Roseburg, Oregon on February 10, 1926 to Charles and Gladys (Walker) Talley.
He joined the US Navy in 1944 as a hospital corpsman during WWII and Korea. During his time in the service he met Margaret Welker. They were married on January 9, 1947 in Roseburg, after his discharge from the Navy. The Talley's moved to Medford in 1953 and then on to Central Point in 1956. Richard worked for the telephone company as a lineman and repairman, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed golfing and reading and was a member of the Elks, Good Sam and the Telephone Pioneers.
Richard is survived by his daughters; Shannyn Vogel of Central Point, Oregon and Linda Talley of Palm Desert, Cal; grandchildren; Randall Stevens of Central Point, Oregon and great-grandchild Anthony Vogel. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, brother Maynard and granddaughter Michelle.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 24, 2012 at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, Ore. Pastor Jim Larsen officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to the Humane Society of Southern Oregon, 2901 Table Rock Road, Medford, Ore 97501
