Rita Gaye Rocha

October 13, 1935 — June 20, 2017

Our sweet Rita Passed away peacefully at home in Phoenix OR on June 22, 2017. Rita was born October 13, 1935 in Brownwood, TX to Maxwell and Ruby Fletcher. Her family moved to Watsonville when Rita was a young girl. As a teen she worked in the local movie theater as an usher. One day a brash young man walked in. According to Rita, he would not take his feet down from the seat in front. She married that young man, Alfred (Al) Rocha, in Watsonville CA June 20, 1954. They were married 59 years. In 1962 Al moved his family to Eagle Point Oregon to start a new dairy farm. Rita worked as an account manager at Harry and David until retirement. After Rita's retirement, Rita and Al decided to run a yogurt shop for awhile. In 2003 Al and Rita made the decision to simplify their lives and moved to Phoenix Oregon. Rita loved working in her garden and playing card games with her special group of friends. She was a talented home hobbyist and loved reading and toll painting. She is survived by her two sons, Marc (Sheryl) of Eugene OR and Wayne of Phoenix OR. She is also leaves her two grandchildren(Jessica Singleton and Kevin Rocha), two great-grandchildren and two brothers Lavert and Robert Fletcher. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, parents and brother, Waylon Fletcher.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday July 15, 2017 at Creekside Estates starting at 1PM. 4601 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix OR. Please bring fond memories and antidotes to share.
