Ronald Ervin Monia

Ronald Ervin Monia, age 76 years, passed peacefully at his home Tuesday, July 2, 2019. He was born Oct 29, 1942 in Medford, OR to parents Eldred Eugene Monia & Opal Adell Charley. He attended Central Point schools, joined the US Navy at the young age of 17 then received his GED in 1961. Ron received an honorable discharge in 1966. On March 8, 1963 he married Carolyn June Jahnke who preceded him in 1968. Ron lost his lower leg due to a shooting accident but that didn't slow him down much.  He had owned & operated his own log truck he named "step and a half trucking". He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports - especially Nascar and NHRA. He is survived by a brother David R. Monia, two sisters Linda Pesterfield and Dena Leong. He was preceded by his parents, wife Carolyn, 3 brothers; Albert, Walter and William and a sister Eldene. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest beside Carolyn.
