Beloved Sandra "Buttons" Irene Smith, 61 of Central Point, Oregon went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was born in Condon, Oregon on June 14, 1951 to her wonderful parents who have passed, Betty and Floyd Caughie.
She has lived in the Rogue Valley since the age of 6. She proudly graduated from Crater High School in 1974. Employment included Harry and David, commercial truck driver with her husband for Market Transport and most of all she was a great and compassionate homemaker.
A mom to many, a friend to so many more. She loved camping with friends and family, reading magazines (Soap Opera Digest), shopping (especially when extreme couponing), word searches, reality TV shows, spoiling her dog Suki and most importantly spending time with her family.
She was blessed with her best friend and husband Darrel Milton Smith 64 of Central Point, Ore. 4 wonderful daughters, Sandy Ash of Eagle Point, Ore.; Barbara Smith of Central Point, Ore.; Renea Beaupre of Hillsboro, Ore and Betty Smith of Redmond, Ore. Also 11 outgoing grandchildren, Justin, Danny, Kelsey, Kayla, Russel, Kendra, Dillon, Darrel, Nick, Miranda and Chloe and 1 special great-grandchild Jaydn. Her loving siblings include, Robert Henley of Brussels, Belgium; Linda Anderson (preceded) of Menan, ID; Ronald Caughie of Aloha, Ore and Johnnie Caughie of Medford, Ore.
Viewing will be Monday, March 18, 2013 from 9am to 11am at Memory Gardens, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, Ore., followed by a service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society, 31 West 6th Street, Medford, OR 97501.
