Sherry Claire Reed (Maddox)

Sherry went to Heaven June 4, 2013. She was born August 10, 1945 in Santa Monica, Calif. and grew up and went to school in Southern California. She then moved to the Upper Applegate in the 1970s, and met George Reed in the Applegate in the 80's. They were married and lived in the Applegate and Medford areas.

Sherry worked at McKee Bridge Store and Restaurant where she was the chief cook and bottle washer for many years. She was known as a great cook; everyone loved her breakfasts and soups. She loved to cook, read, work in her garden, and play pinochle. Most of all she loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Gretchen Baker; granddaughter, Ashley Ralls; and great-grandson, Jaxon Ralls, all of Salem, Ore.; her sister and brother in-law, Stephanie and Michael Hartwell, of Medford; many nieces and nephews; her in-laws; and Inca Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olive Mary and Russell Harden Maddox; her husband, George Reed; and grandson, Andy Ralls.

She was extremely proud of all of her family and loved each and every one of them deeply. Sherry had a sweet, kind, loving, and gentle spirit, always anxious to give of herself. She loved all animals, especially cats.

No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to World Wildlife Federation, C.A.T.S. of Medford, the Southern Oregon Humane Society, or Jackson County Animal Shelte
