Thomas Alfred Carlton

Tom was born in Medford, OR. on July 6, 1930 to Thomas Alfred Carlton Sr., and Gertrude Ulrich Carlton and passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning Nov. 8, 2008 at his home. Tom was raised on a ranch in the Upper Rogue and graduated from Prospect High School in 1948. He worked for Double Dee Lumber Co. until his retirement and also owned and operated Carlton Fuel Co. Thomas was a member of the Medford Elks Lodge #1168. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his Flounce Rock Ranch near Lost Creek Lake. On Feb. 28, 1952 he married Norma Jane Ward who survives him along with four children; son Thomas R. & DeAnn Carlton of Eagle Point, son Mark W. & Beverly Carlton of Medford, daughter Nancy D. & Stuart Scarbrough of Hammond, and daughter Jayne & Dave Ferretto of Sparks, NV., nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren(with two more on the way) and his beloved dog "Barney". Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Thayer and grandson Tyler Carlton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at Memory Gardens Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thur. Nov. 13, 2008. www.memorygardensmortuary.com
