Jim (William James) Brogan passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 26th, 2010.
Jim was born May 17th, 1924 in Antelope, Oregon. Jim was born and raised in a large Irish Catholic family of nine children. During the school year, he lived and attended school in The Dalles. but he spent most of his non-school time working on his father's large sheep ranch near Antelope.
Jim lived most of his adult life in the Rogue Valley. He worked for the Jackson County Department of Public Works until his early retirement in 1979. He married the love of his life on March 3rd, 1962 in the old Catholic Church(St. Josephs) in Jacksonville. He and his wife, Arlien Katherine (Pomeroy / Griffin) were happily married for 48 years. He is survived by his loving wife Arlien; grandson Thomas Brogan Jr.; stepsons, Mark, Alan, Gary and Kim Griffin; sisters Cathrine, Cecile, Josephine and Agnes. He is preceded in death by his son Thomas Brogan Sr.; his parents John and Lelia, brothers Francis and Joseph and sister Margaret. . Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Internment will be at Griffin Creek Cemetery.
