It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Wilma Pearl Guss in Klamath Falls, Oregon on Dec. 15, 2009. Wilma was born Jan. 21, 1919 in Hepler, Kansas to Ethel & Will Watkins. She married James Ancel Guss in Hepler, Kansas in 1935 when only 16 years old. She and Jim left Kansas in 1940 to begin a new life in California. They eventually settled in Central Point, Oregon where together they worked and raised two daughters; Sandra and Carma. The family traveled yearly to Kansas for visits with maternal & paternal grandparents and numerous relatives. Wilma was active in the Church of Christ where she attended and found pleasure and peace studying the bible. Wilma like to garden and had the biggest and most beautiful flowers on the block. She also worked at the Central Point Elementary School as Head cook for many years. She loved to sew and hand stitched clothing before she had a sewing machine. Wilma especially enjoyed making prom dresses for her daughters. Later in life she enjoyed crafting and arts. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 1978; her parents Ethel & Will Watkins and sister Lura Hull. She is survived by daughters Sandra Teeter & husband Joe of Dayton, NV., Carma & husband Ron Smith of Klamath Falls, OR., four grandchildren; Steven Teeter, Jodi Teeter Harms, Brad Smith and Ryan Smith. She leaves eight great grandchildren; Justin son of Steve & Julis Teeter, Albany, OR., Kailyn, Kaicee and Jake children of Brad Smith of Klamath Falls, OR., Rylee, Braidy, Coltin and Jesse children of Ryan & Kelly Smith of Ramsey, MN. Wilma has two surviving brothers in Kansas; Everett Watkins and Bill Watkins. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at Hope Christian Church, 325 Hope St., Central Point, OR.
